How can I resolve a negative balance?
If your account incurs a negative balance, Vantage systematically reviews and automatically resets eligible accounts so you can resume trading smoothly. This automated resolution process eliminates the need for manual reset requests through the portal or app.
How Automated Negative Balance Resets Work
Eligible accounts are cleared automatically through regular, systematic reviews. To qualify for an automatic clearing, your account's equity must be less than its total credit. During a reset, negative balances are cleared to zero, and any remaining credit is adjusted accordingly:
- Scenario 1 (No Credit): If your balance is -$500 and your credit is $0, both your balance and credit remain at $0 after clearing.
- Scenario 2 (Credit Exceeds Negative Balance): If your balance is -$500 and your credit is $600, your balance resets to $0, and your credit is reduced to $100.
- Scenario 3 (Negative Balance Exceeds Credit): If your balance is -$500 and your credit is $300, both your balance and credit clear to $0.
Account Eligibility Restrictions
- -PAMM/MAM Accounts: Negative balance resets are not permitted for either master or investor accounts.
- -Copy Trading Accounts: Vantage copy trading accounts qualify for automatic clearing only if there are no active copiers currently copying trades.
